The Cameraygal School of Performing Arts is proudly supported by the Lane Cove Theatre Company.
Formerly the Lane Cove Dramatic Society and formed in 1995, LCTC aims to provide artistic, educational and recreational opportunities to residents in the local community. A unique not for profit community group, it aims to provide affordable and entertaining live theatre opportunities and to further the appreciation of the performing arts within the Lane Cove area. LCTC wishes to ensure that local theatre is made accessible to all members of the local community and remains community based in its approach and practice. The Lane Cove Theatre Company began in 1995 with a grant from Lane Cove Council as part of the Lane Cove Centenary celebrations. The Lane Cove Theatre Company continues to go from strength to strength. As community awareness increases so does our audience patronage, membership and demands for participation in our productions. What keeps us going and getting stronger is the continual influx of new members and the energy and enthusiasm that they bring. LCTC aim to present three-four full scale productions each year; including plays, musicals, and an annual children's production. We also conduct open-mic nights to showcase local talent and play-readings, where we workshop a script over a period of about 6 weeks, with one performance only. These are specifically for the participation of members and are a wonderful opportunity to gain knowledge of various scripts and try a hand at directing. Students enrolling in a full semester of classes will receive annual membership to the Lane Cove Theatre Company. This membership will include access to all member services and preference for all auditions and casting information for LCTC productions. |
